Construction : Canton Road and Sanitarium Road Intersection Improvement

This project will upgrade the existing traffic signal and add a sidewalk from the Springfield High School north driveway entrance to Sanitarium Road. Project work will also include additional curbing with ADA ramps, crosswalks, and pedestrian push buttons to activate the pedestrian signals.

Status:

Perram Electric is the low bidder on this project. Construction work is underway. This has an anticipated completion date of May 31, 2026. 

• 02/05/2026: The contractor was unable to start foundations due to cold weather. Should begin in March.
• 03/05/2026: Perram has scheduled foundation work for 03/16/2026. 
• 03/19/2026 Contractor started on the 16th. Will have foundations finished by Friday weather permitiing. 
• 04/02/2026: Foundations have been installed. Contractor plans on starting sidewalk and curbs on April 15th, weather permitting.

Maintenance of Traffic:

Traffic will be maintained throughout the project.
