Aug 29, 2024 - Summit County, OH
The Summit County Engineer’s Office is proud to announce next year’s highly anticipated Miniature Bridge Building Competition (MBBC) for 2025. This exciting event, now in its 24th year, is an incredible opportunity for high school students across Summit County to showcase their engineering skills, creativity, and teamwork in a fun and competitive environment.
What Is the MBBC?
The Miniature Bridge Building Competition is designed to inspire and challenge high school students interested in engineering. Participants will work in teams to design and construct miniature bridges using materials provided by the competition. These bridges will be tested for structural efficiency, creativity, and adherence to design criteria.
Who Can Participate?
The competition is open to all high school students in Summit County. Each school may can register 3 teams consisting of 3 students, and we encourage educators to get involved by registering their schools and mentoring their students through the design and construction process.
Why Participate?
Participating in the MBBC offers students a unique, hands-on learning experience that complements classroom education. It fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration—skills that are essential in engineering and so many other fields. Plus, it’s a chance for students to gain recognition for their talents, connect with industry professionals who serve as judges/mentors, and receive the opportunity to apply for scholarships.
