All Non-Essential Meetings Cancelled Until Further Notice

Mar 16, 2020 - Akron, OH

Akron, OH – In accordance with recommendations from the Ohio Department of Health and Governor Mike DeWine regarding the prevention of the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Summit County Engineer’s Office is cancelling all meetings that are not required for the continuation of County road and bridge operations. The upcoming Surface Water Management District Advisory Committee meeting initially scheduled for March 26, 2020 will be postponed to a later date, which is yet to be determined.

The County Engineer is asking all citizens, contractors, and developers to conduct their business with the County Engineer’s Office through phone (330-643-2860), fax (330-762-7829), and email (general information email: info@summitengineer.net) where possible.

The health and welfare of County staff and citizens is our goal through this pandemic. To that end, our cleaning crews have been instructed to disinfect high traffic areas, disinfectant wipes are located at all public gathering places and at the copiers, and hand sanitizer and additional soap dispensers have been placed throughout the building. Employees are encouraged to stay home at the first sign of symptoms

Road maintenance crews and construction and bridge inspectors will continue to operate as normal, keeping County roads and bridges safe for motorists.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
