Home Avenue Bridge Project


The Home Avenue Bridge over the Little Cuyahoga (AKR-011-0002) is under construction. The work also includes the replacement of the bridge superstructure and abutments, approach guardrail, traffic control devices, and new pavement markings. SCE has received funds through the County Engineer's Association of Ohio's Local Bridge Program to aid in paying for the construction of the new bridge. 

  • The road is currently closed, the project is underway and the road is expected reopen in July
  • Kenmore Construction holds the $2.5 million contract
  • The contract includes city of Akron waterline and signal work and ATT line work
  • Local Share: $1,550,699.38 (Federal 80% = $1,240,559.50 MVGT = $310,139.88)

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
