Akron, OH–The West Bath Road Bridge over the Cuyahoga River Rehabilitation Project is on schedule, with a planned reopen date of November 1, 2019. The project timeline included planned construction downtime after the demolition portion of the project was complete. During this time engineers analyzed the existing steel beams and determined the final design plan based on the condition of those bridge beams. The bearing assemblies needed to finish construction have been delivered, new steel has been ordered, and work will start again onsite the week of August 12th. The bridge is located between Riverview Road and Akron-Peninsula Road on the border of Akron and Cuyahoga Falls.

J.D. Williamson Construction Co. located in Tallmadge is the contractor for the $1.2 million project.

The detour route involves Akron-Peninsula Road, Ira Road, and Riverview Road. All work is subject to inclement weather.
