Status: Technical Proposals from selected consultants were received on August 10, 2007. A request for a fee proposal was submitted to GPD Group on September 26, 2007. The fee proposal received from GPD has been reviewed and approved by the Summit County Board of Control. Summit County Council approved the agreement for the phase 1 engineering design on April 14, 2008 by Resolution No.2008-141. The legislation was signed and enacted on April 15, 2008. The consultant agreement document has been signed by GPD, the CountyEngineer, CountyProsecutor and CountyExecutive. On June 10, 2008, the consultant agreement, purchase order and authorization to proceed were given to GPD to begin the phase 1 design. The Bridge Type Study was submitted by GPD on August 25, 2008. On November 6, 2008, Summit County Engineer Greg Bachman approved GPD's Bridge Type Study recommendation for an eighty-five foot single span structure. On November 13, 2008, Summit County Council approval was requested for the design of phase 2 of this project. On December 12, 2008, the Summit County Engineer submitted the Credit Bridge Scope form to ODOT District 4, in accordance with the Credit Bridge Program. On December 15, 2008, Summit County Council approved phase 2 of the design contract with GPD by resolution 2008-501. On February 9, 2009, Summit County Council appropriated funds for carryover projects in the Capital Improvement Plan including $131,864 for the Van Buren Road Bridge project. On February 26, 2009 Purchase Order PO901535 was issued to GPD for phase 2 of the design contract. On March 10, 2009 GPD provided a fee proposal for additional work requested by the Summit County Engineer. On May 5, 2009, the Summit County Engineer accepted GPD’s revised fee proposal. On June 3, 2009 GPD submitted the completed Stage 1 design plans to the Summit County Engineer for review.
August 3, 2009 - Stage 1 comments were provided to GPD.
August 11, 2009 - GPD was authorized to proceed with Preliminary ROW, Stage 2 Design, US Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide permit submittal and the investigation of environmental requirements.
September 20, 2009 – GPD submitted preliminary ROW plans.
