Cleveland-Massillon Road between the intersections with Ridgewood Road and the required approach roadway. Conceptual plans of the alternatives being considered can be seen here:

Description of Work: The purpose of this project is to improve the operation and safety of the Cleveland-Massillon Road/Ridgewood Road intersections by realigning Ridgewood Road or by constructing one or two modern roundabouts to replace the existing signal-controlled intersections. The project involves the improvement of the intersection(s) by removing the existing pavement; grading; realigning Ridgewood Rd. or constructing one (or two) modern roundabout(s) consisting of asphalt concrete pavement, truck apron(s), splitter islands, and center island(s); constructing sidewalk; reconstructing storm sewers; removing existing traffic signal equipment; applying pavement markings; installing traffic signs; coordinating utility relocations; and acquiring permanent and temporary right-of-way.

The project will proceed in three phases. The first phase (Preliminary Engineering Phase) will involve an engineering study to determine the preferred alternative. The second phase (Final Development Phase) will involve the preparation of the construction plans, environmental studies, and right-of-way acquisition. The third phase will be construction of the planned improvements.

Maintenance of Traffic: Traffic will be maintained during construction using part-width construction.
